Ah, how we love silk… if you couldn’t already tell!
Here at Lily Rouse London our journey began with a classic slip dress (as most journeys should…) and, before we knew it, we were creating a range of pieces, from everyday chic to occasion wear.
And it seems we’re not the only ones with a penchant for silk, as several celebrities have triumphed the beautiful material over the years, in the form of dressing gowns, frocks and fanciful items.
In 2016, the silk dress was very en vogue, quite literally, Vogue wrote about the silk dress having a moment as a coveted item all the stars were wearing on the red carpet. And the trend never disappeared, with silk constantly popping up on our Insta feeds and across social media.
So, we’ve taken a look at some of our favourite silk looks on the stars, and without further ado…
While actress Amber Heard can, undeniably, rep any attire, she looked particularly striking in a red silk number by Vivienne Westwood at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala. The dress felt beautifully towards the floor and the colour made it a statement look. We’re sure Amber was turning heads all night…
Another actress who clearly adores silk is Lola Kirke, and she sported a wholly gothic look while clad in a lace-hemmed black silk gown at an event. The stylish outfit was accessorised with a choker necklace, blood red pedicure and statement spider-web clutch bag.
Glamorous star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked dazzling in a Galvan slip dress which she partnered with a nude clutch. The star oozed elegance in the number, as well as a whole host of Old Hollywood glamour.
Let’s face it, Jourdan Dunn looks good in anything! However, draped in silk the star really shone brighter than ever before.
Jourdan opted for an emerald green Burberry wrap dress for the autumn/winter menswear show in 2016 and partnered the chic look with some strappy heels.
Hopefully we’ve piqued your interest in a silk dress and, if so, you can explore the Lily Rouse London collection by heading to our ‘shop’ section.
Stunning star Priyanka Chopra decided upon a strapless silk dress for sister-in-law Sophie Turner’s rehearsal dinner.
The actress looked angelic in the outfit, which featured a strapless silhouette with a heavy drape and thigh slit.
We love the colour midnight blue already, but the silk form is even more beautiful. Kelly Sawyer looked magnificent as she wore a long silk slip on which ran down to the ground, with colour-matched heels and nails.
